REGENT THEATRE
A love story, both tender and compelling, has been brought to the screen in “ Devotion,” which opens at the Regent Theatre to-morrow. Starring Ida Lupino, Paul Henreid, Olivia de Havilland, with a supporting cast headed by Dame May Whitty, Arthur Kennedy and Sydney Greenstreet, the film tells the story of a strange, three-sided love involving two sisters and a man —a love which was later to leave its mark on the world. Adapted for the screen by Keith Winter from an original story by Theodore Reves, "Devotion” reunites Ida Lupino and Paul Henreid, last seen together in “ In Our Time.” The roles of the rival sisters are played by Ida Lupino and Olivia de Havilland, while Paul Henreid, in a departure from his usual screen characterisation, portrays the man they love. The photography and production are of a high standard, and are thoroughly suited to the theme. There, is the usual diversified programme of supporting pictures.
