Will spend Sunday night in f Dunedin on their way south. They will stay at Wain’s Hotel. Ministerial The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, arrived in Dunedin by air yesterday afternoon. He will return north at the beginning of next week. Mr W. W. Callender left by the express yesterday on his way to Auckland, where he is to take over his new position as manager of the Alliance Insurance Company. , Reference to the death of Mr W. R. Brown, one of the first vice-presidents of Heritage (Otago), was made at the annual meeting of that body last night. A motion of sympathy with his relatives was carried in silence. Passengers who left by air for the north , yesterday were Sir James Fletcher, Mr „ R. Cox and Mr R. Watt for Christchurch, Mr H. McLean, Mr J. C. Watt, Mr J. McNamara. Mr E. J. Coates. Mr J. Hunter, Mrs E. Williams, Miss Williams, Mrs J. Hunt and Mr H. Ford for Wellington. Mrs ? M. Lusk for New Plymouth, Mr B. R. Phillips and Mr B Lee for Auckland. These who. arrived from the north were Mr G. Benson. Mr H. Staton. Mrs T. ' Jackson, Miss. Ki McKay. Miss N. Jackson, ' Mrs A. J. McSkimmine, Mr M. Till, Mr K. McCtee. and Mr G. Bisson.
