LIBERAL WHIP RESIGNS

NEGATIVE ATTITUDE DEPLORED (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 21. The chief whip of the Liberal Party, Mr T. L. Horabin, has resigned from the party to become an Independent. In a letter to the Liberal leader, Mr Clement Davies, Mr Horabin said that the Government, as a radical administration, was entitled to full encouragement and support from Liberals, but the Liberal Party was “all too quickly ridding itself of radical associations. The Liberal Party seems to think that by preaching merely a negative antisocial crusade and avoiding any positive expression of policies, it can secure some tactcal advantage,” he said.
