At the monthly meeting of the Balclutha Gardening Club, which was held on Monday night. Mr A. L. Shepard presided over a large attendance. An Interesting talk on soils and -manures was given by Mr A. M. Davidson, of Dunedin who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The president, referring to the impending departure of Mr A. E. Paterson thanked him for his work in the club and at various shows, and wished him success in his new appointment at Invercargill.
