FORMER DUNEDIN PILOT ACCIDENT IN SWITZERLAND (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent ) (Rec. 0.15 a.m.) LONDON, 1 Aug. 28. While climbing in Switzerland with the Oxford University Mountaineering Club Flight Lieutenant W. (Pat.) Esquilant, A.F.C., from Dunedin, was killed and Flight Lieutenant M. K. Conway, from Christchurch, suffered a fractured pelvis. No details are at present available Esquilant, who was a competent climber and a member of the New Zealand Alpine Club and the British section of the Swiss Alpine Club, recently joined the staff of the historical section at R.N.Z.A.F. headquarters. London. Conway is a former school teacher who is taking a rehabilitation course at Oxford. Both joined the party in Switzerland. ■*- Squadron Leader F. A. Andrews, D.F.C., from Auckland, head -of the historical section, has gone to Switzerland to attend the funeral and ascertain the facts.
