SHIEL HILL BUS SERVICE
Sir,—l would like to bring to the notice of our new manager the Shiel Hill bus service. Tire population this way has grown very steadily in the last nine years, since the service began, but we still have the same restricted service as during the war. Lokout Point has its service right from the Exchange, but we have to change into crowded trams. On top of this, on Saturdays and Sundays a bus is run to the cemetery from the terminus, and the Cavell street one is taken off. ‘I can never understand why, as it would serve so many people wanting to go out elsewhere on Sunday, and these are the people, who keep going all week. Surely 'they are entitled to it on Sunday afternoon, as some have a big walk to a tram. There is also a lovely walk from the bus stop at Shiel Hill which would in the summer be a big draw. I should like the manager to have a trip on the 7.30 bus to town any Saturday night. Some are worse than others, I admit, but most times one cannot move an inch from the stop at Cavell street, where as many as 30 and 40 passengers are waiting to get on an already full bus.— I am, etc., Shiel Hill Traveller.
