HAWKE’S BAY BEATS MANAWATU

(P.A.) PALMERSTON N.. Aug. 11. In a representative Rugby match, Hawke’s Bay defeated Manawatu by 10 points to 3, the visitors scoring two converted tries and Manawatu one unconverted try. It was an exceptionally hard fought game, the score one minute to time being 5 to 3, which was a better indication of the game. Hawke’s Bay fielded a formidable side, including the ex-Kiwi Lyons and Fraser, who have been selected in this year's North Island team.
