ASSOCIATION’S MONTHLY SOCIAL The monthly social of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Association was held on Saturday in the Pioneer Women’s Hall. The president, Mrs J. Brighting, gave a hearty welcome to Mr Frank Rowan and all visitors.

Reference was made to the loss by death of a highly-esteemed member, Mr Harry Bosworth. As a mark of respect, the members stood in silnee, and Miss Gaynor Braithwaite sang " Crossing the Bar.” The programme was presented as follows:—Songs, Miss Cora Pullan; duet, Misses Cora and Gwen Pullan: cornet duet, Miss Norma Hood and Mr Trevor Brighting (Mrs D. Brain accompanying); games, organised by Mr Braithwaite: Yorkshire reading, Mr R. Walker. A vote of thanks to the performers concluded the evening
