NOT YET RECONCILED
ANGLO-EGYPTIAN VIEWS
BRITAIN’S REPLY REJECTED
(Rec. 10 p.m.) ALEXANDRIA, July 28. Great Britain’s reply to the recent Egyptian proposals regarding the revision of the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty was unsatisfactory, said one of the delegates after a two-hour meeting of the Egyptian delegation, at which Sidky Pasha presided. The meeting was called to consider the reply which was received from Viscount Stansgate on July 25. After a meeting which was earlier described as decisive, Sidky Pasha said that the delegation would meet again on July 31. In the meantime the Foreign Ministry was studying certain points of the British reply. Reuter’s correspondent at Alexandria says it is obvious that the AngloEgyptian delegations have not yet reconciled their viewpoints concerning a time limit for the evacuation of British troops or the constitution and functioning of the proposed Defence Council.
