REDUCTION OF POWERS
PRICE-FIXING AUTHORITY MANY INCREASES GRANTED WASHINGTON, July 26. After a suspension of 26 days the Office of Price Administration resumed its price-fixing functions, but with greatly reduced powers. The revived agency’s first act was to grant immediate increases on all solid fuels including anthracite, soft coal, coke, and lignite. Ceilings were also raised on shoes and many lesser items ot controls were removed from clocks and television sets. All these actions were pending when the controls tempoi'arily lapsed on June 30.
