There are eight claimants who will fight in an elimination tourney for the privilege of meeting Tommy Burns for the title. Gordon is debarred on the grounds that he Is not a resident of Australia. His projected fight with Joe Hall, scheduled for Saturday week, was cancelled last night because Gordon refused to return fi'om Melbourne in time. A rift between Gordon and his trainer, Fred Atkins, is rumoured.
