INVESTIGATION SOUGHT (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 25. Notflfce of his intention to ask the Minister in Charge of the Government Life Insurance Department, Mr A. H. Nordmeyer, if he would arrange for a full investigation into the premium rates charged on industrial policies, with a view to guaranteeing policy holders reasonable value for their money, was given by Mr H. E. Combs (Govt., Wellington Suburbs) in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Combs stated that under a policy issued by the Provident Life Assurance Company in 1934 the insured was covered for £9 and paid sixpence a week for this cover, She had to date paid £l7 in premiums and had been officially advised that the surrender value of the policy was £3 18s, and that it had a paid-up value (non-profit) of £5 10s.
