IRON AND STEEL
THE BRITISH INDUSTRIES RATIONING NECESSARY LONDON, July 7. The Government has privately warned all principal steel-using industries that some form of iron and steel rationing will be necessary, probably within five months, says the Daily Express. Steel works have increased production compared with before the war, but nothing is coming from America or Belgium (which helped out in 1939) to bridge the six years’ war-time gap.
