STRIKE LAW
Sir,—ln reference to the article appearing in this morning’s issue of the Daily Times under the caption “ Strikers Outside Law,” I, in common with other readers, would like to know what happened to Mr Chifley after Mr Fadden retorted " That is an admission that you cannot govern.” Did Mr Chifley become suddenly tongue tied or is this .iust another sample of the much espoused “ Freedom of the press? ” Something like 30 to 40 per cent, of presentday unionists took part in two world wars for freedom to be unionists with the freedom to strike. Mr Fadden stands for the type of government exhibited in the United States of America a fortnight ago, sponsored by Mr Truman.—l am, etc., Jas. Bain. Port Chalmers, July 5.
