SOUTH ISLAND’S WIN
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 7. Excellent play by the forwards was a feature in the overwhelming victory of the South Island Rugby League team against North by 25 points to 11 at Carlaw Park on Saturday. The visitors dominated play throughout to thrill a crowd estimated at 15,000. The game was played on a heavy ground after several days’ rain, but this did not seriously interfere with bright, open football. The gate receipts were nearly £I2OO.
