The Prov. G.M., Bro. F. Austin, with P.P.G.M. Bro. Roberts and Prov. Guardian Bro. Niven, attended the meeting of Loyal Caversham and was welcomed by N.G. Bro. Williamson. The meeting was a very large one, and an unusual amount of business was transacted. With the exception of the V.G.-elect, Bro. O. Smith, who is not yet discharged from the forces, all officers were duly installed by the Prov. G.M. They were: N.G., Bro. Val Parker; E.S., Bro. Holden; warden, Bro. Carvel!; and guardian, Bro. G. Webb. At the meeting of Loyal Hand and Heart, N.G. Bro. Botting presided and welcomed visitors from city and suburban lodges. The lodge has entered wholeheartedly into the efficiency competition to be held over the ensuing six months. Members wlil require- to be on the alert all the time as no fixed date has been arranged for judging the contest, and the judges may drop in at any time. Those appointed to office in Loyal Dunedin Lodge are: N.G., Bro. C. Patterson; V.G., Bro. R. Torrance; and E.S., Bro. J. McDougall in the meantime. At a recent meeting opportunity was taken to bid farewell to P.G. Sis. Doris Challis, one of Princess Mary’s most popular and enthusiastic workers, who is going to reside in Auckland. Sis. Challis has been a tower of strength, particularly on the social side, and her departure means a distinct loss to her lodge and the society in this area A small gift was tendered, together with the best wishes of her associates.
