Harriers
CELTIC UNITED Celtic United ran from St. Mary’s School, Mosgiel, four packs being formed. The road pack had a 12-mile non-stop run round part of the Marathon course, finisning in a bunch. The senior and junior cross-country packs ran around the hills to Wingatui, returning by way of Janefield road. The juniors held a fast run home, resulting: D. Hutton 1. B. Hogue 2, L. Rocard 3. , , The seniors also returned by way of Janefield road, H Coombs and T. MacDonald being well to the fore. The colts held a run home, resulting: F. Camerop 1, G. McLaughlan 2, J. Mullin CIVIL SERVICE The Civil Service Club held a run from the North-East Valley School. The fast pack ran up to the Centennial Memorial, then along Signal Hill to the Brown House and back to the school. W. H. and G. Nelson and C. and E. Beadle showed good form The slow pack ran in the direction of Signal Hill, G. McKersey and C. Walker being the leaders in the run home. There was a good muster of colts under J. Henderson. Frude, Wilkinson, Brinsdon and McKernan were prominent throughout. BAPTIST The Baptist Harriers held their run from the home of Mr and Mrs H. J. Hayward, and the pack, under Captain Benfell, led up to Opoho road and Signal Hill load, and thence up through the scrub and bush by the trig station and across country, leading back down Signal Hill road and then to Frame street. LEITH CLUB The Leith Harrier Club ran from the Caversham Methodist Church. Three packs were formed. The results of the runs home were as follow: Senior.—D. Arthur 1, A. Forbes 2, K. C Junfoh-S. Walkinshaw 1, F. Perry 2. I. Burns 3.
