CLOSELY CONTESTED

On the run of the play in the second half, Technical Old Boys were unlucky not to win the match against Training College A played at the Oval. College was leading by three goals to nil at half time, but the persistent attacks of the Technical forwards after the resumption of play produced three goals, and the game finished with Technical on the offensive. Before the second spell was far advanced College began to tire, and occasional sallies into Technical’s territory were repulsed by good play on the part of the full-backs, R. Bond and Chirnside. The scorers for Technical were Andreassand (2) and Freeman. Wedlake, at inside-left, played well. For Training College, the three inside forwards played a good game throughout, the goals were scored by Handley (2) and McArley Wyatt, at inside-left, played a solid game, and Nicholson, centre-half, was dependable. Technical was playing two men short in the opening stages. The referees were Dr Monheimer and Mr A. Chapman.
