LAWN TENNIS

HEART OF AMERICA TOURNAMENT (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 10. Parker defeated Talbert 3—6, B—6, 6—3, 6—4 in the final of the heart of America tournament at Kansas City. It was Parker’s fourth consecutive win over Talbert. Mrs Frank Kovacs won the Women’s Singles 11—9, 6—3 from the eighth national ranking player, Mrs Mary Arnold Prentiss. Mrs Kovacs did not play enough tennis last year to gain ranking. Talbert and Gardnar Mulloy, national champions, defeated Parker and Hal Surface 6—2, 14—12 in the Doubles final, which lasted a gruelling 150 minutes.
