BUILDINGS IN LEITH STREET PLANS BEING PREPARED The Housing Department in Wellington is now preparing working drawings for the development of fiats in Leitn street, and as soon as they are completed, tenders for the erection of tne buildings will be called. In the first instance Block A and B, comprising seven onebedroom flats and nine two-bedroom flats, would be completed. ’ This will mark the first occasion on which such flats have been erected in Dunedin,” said Mr Connolly, “and it is expected that they will prove as popular here as they are in the northern centres." There were many family houses being rented by couples without children or with only one of a family, he added, and the erection of these flats would allow them to vacate their homes in favour of larger families. v
