SOME PROSPECT OF RELIEF (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Mar. 28. Immediately following the conference, the Counties’ Association wanted the Municipal Association to join in a deputation to the Government to ask for relief from hospital rating this year, said the president (Mr J. W. Andrews) at the Municipal Conference to-day. There was a prospect, he added, of retrospective legislation being introduced in June to enable the local bodies to have some relief this year.

The'conference was discussing a Mosgiel Borough remit which urged the Government to give some relief from hospital rating. The remit was carried.
