AUSTRALIAN LOAN
DISAPPOINTING RESPONSE SYDNEY, Mar. 27. The response to Australia’s £70,000,600 loan appeal has been disappointing, according to figures which show that only one in 97 of the population and one in 35 of income earners have so far subscribed. Individual subscribers now total 75,241 and the amount invested is £47,000,000. Banks and other institutions have subscribed heavily, and industrial groups are giving results comparable with those of other loans.
