TEN LEFT IN SYDNEY

NO . TRAIN ACCOMMODATION (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 3. After waits of up to three months for a passage to New Zealand, 10 persons, mostly women, have been defeated by the railway restrictions. A ship is waiting for them in Melbourne, but seats cannot be found for them on the express from Sydney. The Railways Department has found seats for over 250 travellers who left Sydney to join the liners Athlone Castle and Rangitata in Melbourne for New Zealand, but reservations did not exist for the final 10 of the Sydney contingent. They are booked by the Rangitata, which is to sail from Melbourne tomorrow, and to-night’s express is the last that could get them south in time.
