MATURING LOANS

REPAYMENT IN LONDON OFFER TO INVESTING PUBLIC (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 3. The Minister of Finance, Mr W. Nash, announces that the Government has decided to invite the public to subscribe some of the money required to meet the liability incurred by repayment in London of loans totalling £23,392,000, part of which was repaid on January 1, the balance being repayable on February 1. ... Mr Nash said that the investing public may apply for stock in the new issue now being offered, namely 3 per cent, stock maturing on July 15, 1961-63. If the loan is still on the market during the next financial year the amounts subscribed may be used for national development purposes. The loan will be opened forthwith, and may be closed at any time.
