OCTAGON THEATRE

A SPECTACULAR FILM A spectacular film, “Thunderhead— Son of Flicka,” based on Mary O’Hara’s popular novel, opened a season at the Octagon Theatre yesterday, with Roddy McDowall, Preston Foster, and Rita Johnson heading the cast. The picture tells the story of a sensitive boy who loves horses, Rob McLaughlin, his rancher-father, and Neil, the mother of the family. Since sequels always invite comparison, the new book had to tell an even better story, and the boy hero had to face problems that only an older youngster could solve. How successfully “ Thunderhead —Son of Flicka,” meets .the challenge can best be judged by the concensus of Hollywood opinion, marking it, as more outstanding in every way than the original. Box plans are at the theatre and Begg's.
