REGENT THEATRE
ROMANTIC LOVE STORY Alan Ladd returns to the screen in what is described as one of the most beautiful love stories ever written, “And Now To-morrow,” which was shown at the Regent Theatre yesterday, with the charming Loretta Young starring with .him. In direct contrast with his previous roles, Ladd, in “And To-morrow ” portrays the part of a noted physician, a “straight” characterisation which he handles excellently. Miss Young plays the part of the elder daughter of fabulously wealthy parents, who is stricken with a serious illness at a reception announcing her engagement to Barry Sullivan. Miss Young travels from one noted specialist to another in the desperate hope of receiving efficient treatment, and she then meets a brilliant young medico (Ladd), and that is the start of an appealing romance. Others with prominent roles in the cast are Barry Sullivan Cecil Kellaway and Beulah Bondi. Box plans are at the theatre and the D.I.C.
