PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING The fifty-sixth annual meeting of the Dunedin Photographic Society was held in the clubrooms, Mr R. G. Ratcliff presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report showed that the club had a successful year, with a large influx of new members, and increased interest in lectures and meetings. The register stood at approximately 150, a number of members still being absent on war service. In common with the rest of the community, the society had felt the effect of rising costs, but the financial position was satisfactory. The renovation of the darkrooms had meant a considerable outlay. but had improved the working conditions. The election of officers was as follows: Patron, Mr S. H. Rawson; president. Mr R. G. Ratcliff: immediate past president, Mr H. G. Woolman; vice-presidents—Mrs D. Y. Erwin, Messrs George Chance, J. J. Webster, and the president of the Otago Art Society; secretary, Miss M. Valentine; treasurer, Lieut. P. Hewitt; exhibition secretary, Mr G. A. Weedon; editor, Mr N. Anderson; council members—Miss N. Lawrenson, Dr R. Kirk, Messrs C. S. Dickson and Allan Chance; librarian. Miss D. Williams; auditor. Mrs A. D. Barrett; judge, Mr J. G. Johnston. Following the election of officers, the society elected Mr George Chance, F.R.P.S., a life member in recognition of his services to the club.
