SYRIA’S ATTITUDE TO BRITAIN LONDON, Oct. 1. Syria wants closer ties with Britain. That was the theme of a statement by Saadullas A 1 Jabri after his appointment as Premier of Syria, says Reu : ter’s correspondent in Damascus. Jabri said his Government’s foreign policy would be to secure closer financial and social relations with the Allied nations, especially Britain and America. The Government would also work with Lebanon to secure complete independence in the Levant. Jabri said Syria was interested in the future of the Italian colony, and lie hoped that Arab considerations would be taken into account in deciding its future.
