DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE Buyers sought Government 3 per cent. Stock, 1956-59, at £IOO on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday, with sellers offering at 10s away, The 3 per cent. December. 1953-56, Stock had a buyer and a seller at the same figures, and Wool Bonds, 1949, were quoted at £1 Os 4d and £1 Os 6d. Bank of New Zealands were sought at £2 9s 6d, with sellers asking 6d more, and the Long D issue was wanted at £1 9s 6d. Commercial Banks were quoted at 18s (buyer) and 18s 4d (seller), and the preference issue had buyers at £lO 12s. National Insurances were quoted at £4 2s 6d and £4 4s 6d. P, and O. Deferred Stock at £2 17s and £3, Union Steam Ship at £ 1 12s and £1 13s, New Zealand Refrigerating (cont.) at 14s ,9d and 15s 3d, New Zealand Breweries at £2 6s and £2 7s, and Dominion Breweries at £2 13s 6d and £2 14s 6d, buyers and sellers. Auckland Gas were sought at 7s 6d, and the contributing issue was offered by sellers at 3s Id. A buyer wanted Ivaitangata Coals at £1 Is 9d, and Westports were sought at £1 7s, with sellers Is away. The ordinary Bruce shares were quoted at £1 17s 3d and £2, with the preference being inquired for at £1 7s 6d. There was a buyer of Manawatu Knitting Mills at £2 6s, and of Mosgiels at £l4 10s. Buyers quoted Anthony Horderns at £1 Is 6d, British Tobaccos at £2 8s 9d. Claude Neons at £2. Charles Bcggs at £1 7s 6d, D.I.C. (ord.) at £1 Is 6d, and the preference issue at £1 7s 9d. but no sellers were attracted.
