FORMER BRITISH TRADE COMMISSIONER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 1. A former British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, Sir Louis Beaje, arrived by flying-boat from Sydney to-day. Sir Louis, who is vice-presi-dent of the International Standard Electric Corporation of New York, said he was on a purely business visit. He left? to-night for Wellington to meet Government officials. His company deals extensively in telephone and cable services. Sir Louis was Trade Commissioner in New Zealand between 1926 and 1929. For some years after that he was commercial counsellor at the British Embassy in China. In 1939 he was appointed commissioner-general for the British section of the New York World Fair, and throughout the war he was a member of the Anglo-French Purchasing Commission in Washington.
