GREEK MONARCHISTS
DEMAND FOR PLEBISCITE (Rec. 7 p.m.) ATHENS, Aug. 30. The Greek Regent, Archbishop Damaskinos, granted an audience to the leaders of the Populist Party (Monarchists), who stressed the importance of holding a plebiscite before the general elections in accordance with the Varizka Agreement, and opposed the proposal of a general amnesty on the ground that an amnesty would shake confidence in the country’s justice. M. Peter Gournarakis has been appointed Greek Minister of the Interior. Mr Voulgaris previously held the portfolio.
