HIGHLAND RIFLES
EX-MEMBERS’ ASSOCIATION The president (Mr G. F. McKellar) presided over the fifteenth annual meeting of the Dunedin Highland Rifles Ex-members’ Association. The annual report and balance sheet referred to the deaths of the following members: the patron, Colonel A. Stoneham (joined 1885), J. S. Nelson (1886), John McDonald (1890), D. Robertson (1892), C. Williamson (1892), S. Garbutt (1896), J. Gilmore, and W. Ruston. The membership stood at 48 and the financial position was reported to be satisfactory. It was decided to hold the re-union in the Crawford Lounge on September 22. , The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patroness, Mrs M. E. Stoneham (Gisborne); patron, Captain Alex. Dempster; president, Mr F. W. A. Clayton; vice-presidents, Messrs J. O. McDnoald, J. Sim, J. K. Macfie, D. Fraser, G. Waldie, J. McPherson, J. A. Armit, J. C. Rigby, J. D. Cameron, D. Ferguson, J. Kennedy, W. Sinclair, C. Hamilton, A. A. Campbell, G. Ferens, and Ira Grant.; committee—Messrs J. Frew, D. Ferguson, W. Mackay, B. Newman, K. Melville, J. C. Rigby, G. Ferens, C. Hamilton, R. Grimmett, Ira Grant, A. A. Campbell; secretary, G. W Hill; auditor, Mr J. K. Macfie; immediate past president, Mr G. F. McKellar; official piper, Mr G. Maher.
