MOSGIEL INDUSTRIAL COOPERATIVE SOCIETY
The half-yearly meeting'of the Mosglel Industrial Co-operative Society, Ltd., was presided over by Mr D. Connor, who read and explained the balance sheet. The profit and loss account, the president said, showed a surplus of £364 14s 6d. The committee had decided to give Is in the £ discount on all goods (excluding tobacco and butter) paid for during the past six months. With the 6d in the £ cash discount already paid, this made a total of Is 6d in tne £ on purchases. In addition, interest at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on share and loan capital would be paid. The turnover for the period was £10,722, which was very encouraging in these difficult times. The society was in • a healthy financial position.
The following directors were elected;— President, Mr D. Connor; secretary, Mr G. A. Gibson; treasurer, Mr J. R. Brown. Messrs E. Farrant and J. Fowler were elected to vacancies on the Board of Management. Voles of thanks were passed to the office-bearers, the manager (Mr J. W. Thomson), and the staff.
