PALMERSTON STOCK SALE

A small entry, both in sheep and cattle, came forward for the Palmerston sale yesterday. Welher hoggets, which were of ordinary quality, met with a quiet inquiry. Two-tooth wethers sold well. In the cattle section several pens of mixedcoloured 18-month steers were offered, ana also some dairy heifers and cows close to profit. The latter met good competition, but most of the steers were passed at auction. „ „„ Quotations: Two-tooth wethers, 20s 3d to 28s 3d; medium wether hoggets, 15s 9d to 16s 7d; small wether hoggets, 12s 9d to 13s 9d; old ewes, 12s; dairy heifers, £8 10s to £l3; dairy cows, £9 15s; fat cows, £8 10s to £8 17s 6d.
