Soldiers Safe.—News of the safety of four prisoners of war—D. McFarlane, N. Fountain, D. Caskie (Greece) and R. Holden (Italy)—has been received by their relatives in Clyde. McLay Children Appeal.—The following additional donations have been received by the treasurer of the Clyde community sing for the McLay Children Appeal Alexandra Rotary Club, £3 3s; O G. Stevens and Mrs A. Scaife, Wanaka, £1 Is each; H. Tattersfield and “Anon,” £1 each; Miss A. Bodkin, 10s; Mrs Tattersfield, ss; previously acknowledged, £55 5s lid;—total, £63 6s. Golf.—A meeting for the purpose of resuscitating the golf club was held on Tuesday night and it was decided to reform the club and commence play tomorrow. Mr I. D.’ Wilson was elected president, Messrs A. Harris and C. J. Davidson vice-presidents, and Mr W. K. George secretary. Some work has been done on the links, which are quite playable. The subscription was reduced to 10s for men and 7s 6d for ladies.
