FRENCH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 17. The final figures in the French municipal elections in 957 localities of more than 4000 inhabitants confirm the swing to the Left, states Reuter’s Paris correspondent. Communists and Socialists, or a combination of both, hold a majority of 468 municipalities. The chief* losses were suffered by the Radical F*arty and the Conservatives. The latter formerly held a majority in 484 municipalities compared v/ith the present 110.
