MORE MEN REQUIRED
GARRISON DUTY IN EUROPE (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 22. Hundreds of men who have passed their thirty-first birthday are being called up for the British Army, says the Daily Express. Mr Churchill announced in December that the army needed another 250,000 men. It was planned to find these men by reorganising non-combatant units o inside the army and by transferring men to the army from other services. The demobilisation of these new recruits will be governed by age, plus length of army service. ' This means that many of them will be in uniform long after the Pacific war is ended, although few are likely to fight in the Far East. Most of them will do garrison duty in Europe.
