COLLECTIVE SECURITY
FRANCE STILL A CHAMPION (Rec. 7 p.m.) PARIS, Mar. 21. France to-day was more than ever the champion of collective security, said the Foreign Minister, M. Bidault, closing the foreign affairs debate in the Consultative Assembly. He added: “I am making this statement to end rumours to the contrary.” France’s policy in the Middle East was one of progress, freedom, and loyalty. He added that France raised no objection to the attendance of Syria and the Lebanon at the San Francisco Conference. Indeed, she would welcome their presence. France, despite all that had happened, wished to regain friendly relations with Italy. A Cairo message -states that the Arab States decided jointly to protest to Britain, the United States, and Russia against their failure to invite yria and the Lebanon to the San Francisco Conference.
