WAR IN INDO-CHINA
COUNTER-OFFENSIVE PLANNED CHUNGKING, Mar. 18. The Central News Agency reports that the French Government has laid down plans for a counter-offensive in Indo-China. The French Embassy said that the total Japanese invasion force was estimated at 60,000, most of which came from Nanning in China. Part of the French and Annamese defenders have withdrawn to Yunnan, but fierce fighting is proceeding in Northern Indo-China.
