RARE STAMPS SOLD
HIGH PRICES IN LONDON (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 12. Rare stamps of British possessions in the South Pacific brought high prices at a Bond .street sale, when £52 10s was paid for five- die proofs of the first issue of New Zealand, representing the nominal values of one penny, twopence, threepence, and sixpence, in black on Indian paper. A horizontal pair of twopenny dull blue stamps issued in New. Zealand in 1863 brought £32, seven die proofs of the 1860 Queensland issue £45, and a twopenny blue New South Wales of 1859 £37.
