FALL FROM LADDER
MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED Serious injuries were received by an elderly carpenter, Sydney John Lyons, who lives at 23 Maitland street, when he fell from a ladder shortly after 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon while carrying out renovations at 43 Arawa street, Anderson’s Bay. He was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital ,at 3.30 p.m., and at a late hour last night he was on the dangerously ill list. At the commencement of the thunderstorm which set in during the afternoon a member of the household by whom Mr Lyons had been engaged heard a crash which caused her to rush outside. She found the injured man lying unconscious at the base of a ladder which he had been using. It appeared that he had fallen from a point 20 feet above the ground.
