GIVES WAY TO MILITARY JUNTA GUATEMALA CITV, i July 1. General Jorge Übico has resigned the presidency of Guatemala, and a military junta has taken over the Government. The Government’s suspension of constitutional rights on June 22 as a prelude to the resignation of the Übico Cabinet precipitated a strike of national university students which threatened to spead swiftly. The junta formed by Generals Eduardo Ariza, Frederico Ponce, and Buenaventura Pineda, promised the restoration of constitutional rights. The junta is forming a new Cabinet.
