FAT SHEEP PRICES IMPROVE At the weekly Burnside market yesterday there was a large entry of cattle, including many pens of unfinished and ordinary descriptions. No doubt the recent cold snap of wintry weather was the reason for many unfinished cattle being forward. The yarding of fat sheep compared with recent yardings, prime quality sheep being particularly firm to a shade better, while lighter sorts were keenly competed for by export buyers. The yarding of store cattle was a small one, and did not create much interest. Baconers were’forward in fair numbers, the quality being better than for the last couple of sales, and competition was decidedly brisker.
