SOCIAL TO SOLDIERS
A welcome-home social to Sapper E. Eckhold, Privates D. Davies and J. Newlands was held in the Ngapara Centennial Hall recently, the proceeds going to the local Patriotic Committee. On behalf of residents, Mr D. McCulloch presented each guest with a leather suitcase. Mrs Rapson, on behalf of the local Red Cross, and Mr. T. McCone, speaking for ex-servicemen, conveyed best wishes.
Jackson’s Oichestra supplied the music, and Messrs R. Geary and T. Watson were M.C.’s.
