POST-WAR AIRPORT
CONSTRUCTION NEAR LONDON (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, June 11. London’s new post-war airport, which is to be the biggest in the world, is already taking shape at Staines, says the Daily Telegraph. Bulldozers, special ploughs, and levelling rakes are preparing the runway, which will, it is believed, be five miles long. The Air Ministry for months searched for a flat site conveniently near London with traffic connections, and the choice has now been made.
