ALBANIA’S ACTION
RECRUITING FOR GERMANS GENERAL WILSON’S WARNING (Rec. 7 p.m.) ItUGBY, June 11. General Sir Henry Maitland Wilson, Allied commander in the Middle East, In a statement in .reference to the action of the Albanian Government in recruiting troops to fight for the Germans, states: “To recruit for the German Army in the Balkans is to act as an enemy of the United Nations. Those responsible must be warned of the inevitable results of these acts. Armed forces, under whatever names, who support the German Army either against the regular forces of any of the United Nations or against those assisting the United Nations resistance in the Balkans, are warned that they will be treated as enemies, both now and in the future days of the liberation.”
General Sir Maitland Wilson has addressed a message to General Henry Arnold and Sir Charles Portal expressing his admiration of the magnificent work accomplished in the Mediterranean theatre by the Allied air forces since he has been in command.
