UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO
NOMINATIONS FOR COUNCIL Nominations for the election of five members of the Council of the University of Otago closed yesterday. Four of the retiring members have been returned unopposed, but two nominations have been received for the position of member representing teachers in primary schools and an election will be necessary. The following are the nominations:— Two members to represent the district Court of Convocation:—’The Rt. Rev. D. C. Herron (nominated by J. C. Robertson and Miss M. W. May), and W. Downie Stewart (nominated by Dr. C. E. Hercus and J. Robertson).— Both re-elected. One member to represent teachers in secondary schools: —W. J. Morrell (nominated by Miss M. H. King and O. J. Begg).—Re-elected. . One member to represent members of school committees: —J. C. H. Somerville (nominated by J. A. Evans and H. J. Whitehead).—Re-elected. One member to represent teachers in primary schools: —J. Robertson, the sitting member (nominated by D. Forsyth and Dr. Boraman), and E. Partridge (nominated by J. McK. Miller and George Swan). The election will be held on Friday, June 23.
