AN EXCITING DRAMA The chief attraction on the programme which was shown for the first time at the ‘State Theatre yesterday is " Tne Ox-Bow Incident,” the screen version of the story that thrilled thousands in the novel by Walter Van Tilburg. The action begins when Henrv Fonda and his partner, Henry Morgan, are caught in the swirl of murderous mob fury. The trouble started over the fact that a rancher named Kinkaid is reported to have been killed, and because suspicion is directed at them Fonda and Morgan join the posse hunting for the killers. The action gains in tension when the posse arrests three men, and there is an immediate demand for " lynch ” justice on the spot. Although calmer heads intervene, the fate of the thrpe men is decided in one of the most thrilling incidents ever portrayed on the screen. Henry Fonda makes the most of' his role, and other important parts are played to perfection by Dana Andrews, Mary Beth Hughes, Anthony Quinn, William Eythe, Morgan, and Jane Darwell.
