WOMEN’S BASEBALL
Sir,—As a keen follower of women’s baseball I feel moved to protest against the way in which the representative team has been picked. The team consists of seven Y.W.C.A. players, four Taieri, two Kiwi and one Ascot. I do not think it is a fair thing that Hillside, Regent and Tech. Ex-pupils should have been overlooked. Is it fair that teams which have been practising assiduously for some time should be cold-shouldered in this way? Why not pick one or two players from each team and train them to the standard required, if they are not already up to it? I am, etc., A Lover of Fair Play. Feb. 7.
