REHABILITATION
Sir.—A lot of hot air has been blown off by the Government concerning what would be done for the brave men who went away to fight for us, but so far as can be seen, little if anything so far has been done. You are waved away with flags, and met with a big stick when you come back. Now, what about handing them some of the " cushy ” jobs in, for instance, the road traffic staff, the police staff, the radio staff, the appeal boards •staff. Too many appeals are being granted. If returned men were sitting on these boards many of the applicants for exemption would be put in their place. If the returned soldiers were fit to save our skins from Japanese and Huns they are fit to hold down any. job, even including the Prime Minister’s. —I am, etc., Oamaru, Feb. 9. Now Listen.
